In 2018 my boyfriend and I took our first vacation together, to his cottage on Manitoulin Island. The weather was beautiful for us and the days seemed to always hold new adventures. The Natural beauty of this part of Ontario is what I grew up around, so the familiarity was welcoming but the uniqueness that the island held compared to mainland was a beautiful experience.

One of my favourite places of our vacation, the dock leading to the lake on the island. The water was beautiful and calm and the sun was a warm and welcoming embrace. It honestly was the perfect escape.

On one of the last nights at the cottage we sat out by the edge of the dock with a telescope and moon gazed. The dusk sky was a purple haze and cicadas screamed from the bushes lining the edge of the lake. The ninth was serene and calm as ever.
I will forever remember that peace.
